Marla Salezze, a long time Nunn Design Innovation Team Member, will be partnering up with Nunn Design to offer a series of classes at the To Bead True Blue Show in Tucson. Marla’s classes will be held at the To Bead True Blue show at the Double Tree on January 30th -31st , 2017 from 1-4 pm.
You might recognize Marla’s work from the many projects that she has had featured in Beadworks, Bead and Button Magazine, Stringing Magazine, Jewelry Affaire, Cloth Paper Scissors and more. Marla is prolific and a real innovator when it comes to using seed beads with Nunn Design Findings.

1. Imperial Pearl Earrings
Duration of class: 1.5 hours Skill Level: Beginner
Class Description: Peyote stitch 24k gold and sterling silver metal seed beads around gold channel beads and accent them with Swarovski pearls to create this designer inspired earring set.
What Will Students Learn: Students will learn how to beadweave around a channel bead using the peyote stitch and how to assemble earrings using basic wirework techniques.
Prerequisite: None
Techniques: Peyote and wirework

2. Heart of Stone Pendant Necklace
Duration of Class: 1.5 hours Skill Level: Beginner
Class Description: Create this pendant using stones, peyote stitched beads and a rustic heart pendant, all hanging from deerskin lace that can be adjusted to wear long or short.
What Will Students Learn: Students will learn how to beadweave around a channel bead using the peyote stitch and how to assemble the pendant using basic wirework techniques.
Prerequisite: Beginner
Technique: Peyote, wirework and assembly

3. Good Vibrations Bracelet
Duration of Class: 1.5 hours Skill Level: Beginner
Class Description: Beadweave a charm out of gemstone beads, Swarovski crystals and metal seed beads and adorn an adjustable bangle with the handmade charm and a few metal charms to make a bracelet filled with good vibrations. A variety of gemstone beads and charms with varying meanings and special intentions will be available for each student to choose from.
What Will Students Learn: Students will learn how to make a beaded charm using the netting stich and assemble a bracelet with jump rings and metal charms.

Technique: Netting stitch and assembly

4. Bead Embroidery Bracelet Inspired by the Zentangle® method of pattern drawing.
Duration of Class: 1.5 hours Skill Level: Beginner
Class Description: Turn the popular style of doodling—known as Zentangle ®—into a bead-embroidered bracelet. Bead-embroider a Zentangle pattern and insert it into a pre-fabricated metal bezel that is then attached to an adjustable leather snap bracelet.
What Will Students Learn: Students will learn the basics of bead embroidery while following an illustrated bead pattern on a foundation. Students will also learn how to make a cold connection with a metal bezel and leather.

Duration of Class: 1.5 hours Skill Level: Beginner
Class Description: Beadweave this Southwest style pattern around a channel bead and accent with a leather tassel to create this trendy beaded keychain.
What Will Students Learn: Students will learn how to beadweave around a channel bead using the peyote stitch and will also learn how to assemble it into a keychain.

Technique: Peyote stitch and assembly

7. Angular Aztec Bracelet
Duration of Class: 3 hours Skill Level: Novice beadweaver
Class Description: Learn the basic peyote stitch to create this patterned bracelet. Accent the bracelet with a bead rolled edge and finish with metal findings and a fleur di le charm.
What Will Students Learn: Students will learn the basic flat peyote stitch, how to create a bead rolled edge and how to finish the bracelet with metal findings.
Prerequisite: None
Technique: Peyote stitch, embellishing stitch, assembly
Kit Fee: $49.00

8. RAW Talent Bangle
Duration of Class: 3 hours Skill Level: Novice beadweaver
Class Description: Wrap a right angle weave (RAW) strip made from metal seed beads around a blank channel bangle and then make it pop with fire-polished beads in a statement color. Students may select between a variety of metal seed bead finishes and fire-polish bead colors.
What Will Students Learn: Students will learn the right angle weave (RAW) stitch and how to embellish it with accent beads.
Prerequisite: Previous experience with Right Angle Weave (RAW) stitch will be helpful, but not necessary.
Technique: Right Angle Weave (RAW) Stitch and embellishment
Kit Fee: $38-$43 depending on metal seed bead finish

I vote for 1 and 4. My consideration had to do with time, expense and something I would not have to sit through waiting for beginners as I don’t know how to do these two things. There were others like #9 that looked interesting but it’s hard to sit in a class with people who don’t know right angle. No 6 too expensive and no 7 I know how to payote
