Sometimes, when I’m sitting down to create, I lose myself in the process. I often forget how long something took me to figure out or how many versions I may have made until I reached the final finished jewelry piece – the Stacking Contemporary Necklace. This necklace fits all of the above mentioned categories.
When I first shot the full step-out tutorial for this Contemporary Wire Frame Necklace, I created it one way. It wasn’t until I was remaking it for the 5th time in the last of the plating options that I realized there was a totally different, and far simpler way to create the necklace. I was sort of embarrassed at how complicated I had made it. I then went back and reshot the tutorial that you see below.
Supplies Needed:
2 Wire Frame Open Circle Large Double Hole – Antique Gold
1 Wire Frame Open Circle Large Double Hole – Antique Copper
1 Metal Bead Faceted Elongated Drop – Antique Copper
1 Jumpring 9mm Textured Circle – Antique Copper
1 Toggle Ring Small Hammered – Antique Copper
1 Toggle Bar Small Hammered – Antique Copper
10 Jumprings Small – Antique Gold
16” Small Hammered Flat Cable Chain – Antique Copper
Tools Needed:
2 Pair Needle Nose Pliers
Learn How:
Step 1:
Using both pair of Needle Nose Pliers, attach Small Jump Rings onto all 3 of the Open Circle Large Wire Frames – you will need a total of 6 jump rings for this step, 2 for each frame.
Step 2:
Reopen one of the attached jump rings on one of the antique gold Large Open Circle Wire Frames. Attach one end of the 16” Small Hammered Flat Cable Chain to the jump ring and close. Repeat for the other side.
Step 3:
Lay the antique copper Large Open Circle Wire Frame on top of the antique gold Large Open Circle Wire Frame. Connect the two Large Open Circle Wire Frames with a jump ring.
Step 4:
Lay the antique gold Large Open Circle Wire Frame onto the other two. Connect with a jump ring on both sides.
Step 5:
Find the center of the 16” Small Hammered Flat Cable Chain. Using two pair Needle Nose Pliers open up one of the chain links and attach the Small Hammered Toggle Bar. Repeat for the other side, attaching the Small Hammered Toggle Ring.
Step 6:
Using both pair of Needle Nose Pliers, open the 9mm Antique Copper Textured Circle Jumpring and thread on the Metal Bead Faceted Elongated Drop. Attach to the bottom Large Open Circle Wire Frame. Close the 9mm jump ring.
Step 7:
Wear this beauty all over town!
