Colorizing Brass Stampings with Swellegant Metal Coatings

It has been several years since Christi Friesen released a line of metal coatings and colorants called Swellegant. Christi primarily uses the metal coatings to transform, patina, and dye polymer clay, but I played with the patinas and coatings on the Nunn Design Brass Stampings!

For this Swellegant Metal Coating Sampler, I started out with the raw brass stampings that we offer here at Nunn Design. You can see the raw brass in the upper left corner. I then applied various Swellegant Patinas; Gold Green Verdigris Patina, Darken Patina and Tiffany Green Rust Patina. You can see the full effect of these patinas on the top row of this sampler.

On the lefthand side of the sampler, I explored using the Swellegant Coatings; Brass Metal Coating, Bronze Metal Coating, Copper Metal Coating, Silver Metal Coating.

Then things really started to look fantastic when I blended the coatings with the patinas! You can follow the chart to see how the various combinations came out. I LOVED the effect that these Swellegant Patinas and Coatings brought to the Nunn Design Brass Findings.
