Artisan Spotlight: Susan Forker
Once I read that Susan Forker used to be a video editor in her former life, I found myself saying – ahhh, that is how she is able to capture a story within a single piece of jewelry.
“I see jewelry design as an extension of my earlier career”, Forker writes. “Even though I now work with images that aren’t moving, it is still about telling a story.”
Susan’s pieces of jewelry incorporate only original vintage images. “It’s all about the power of that image-perhaps making a connection based on a memory.”
It’s hard to capture the story of Susan’s work, because she is constantly on the go. She does have an etsy site, but due to her show schedule, it is hard to keep the inventory stocked! But you can follow her on Facebook and on her blog, or you could stop by at one of her many shows this summer. Tell Susan, “Becky sent me!”
