2015 Summer Collection-Open Frames + Giveaway
The Nunn Design Open Frames are new to the 2015 Summer Collection. This is an addition that I am very excited about because the design alternatives for these findings are diverse and fun.
The Open Frames are made from brass and have a brass ring soldered with lead-free solder onto the top of the frame. Open Frames are plated with copper, 24k gold or .999 fine silver.

Let me show you some of the fun things I have created with the new Open Frames.
Link them together to create a contemporary style necklace, earrings or bracelet.
Wire wrap some beads and create fun pendants and charms for necklaces or earrings.
Seal off the back with packing tape and fill with Nunn Design 2-Part Resin.
Here is a simple step-by-step tutorial on how to use Open Frames with Nunn Design 2-Part Resin and Castin’ Craft Colorants.
- To pour Nunn Design 2-Part Resin into the Open Frames, attach a piece of 2mm packing tape onto the backside of the frame. Tear off a large enough piece of the 2mm packing tape that will cover the full back of the Open Frame (with a little wiggle room). I found if I used too large of a piece of packing tape, it would easily get stuck on something and disturb the drying resin.
- Lay the Open Frame onto the packing tape and press down firmly. Burnish the Open Frame onto the packing tape by pressing down firmly and rubbing the tape and frame on a smooth hard surface. This will secure the seal around the edge, preventing any leakage of the resin. You are now good to mix and pour your resin.

- Once the resin is cured (12 hours), remove the packing tape from the back. If you have a little tape residue on the backside, you can use rubbing alcohol or Goo Be Gone to remove any unwanted stickiness from the packing tape.
